Where academia & the private sector intersect

Definition:

Many academic activities are quite different from those in the private sector, but there are private sector activities which early career researchers should be aware of, including budgeting (for departmental, grant funding budgets), available resources for ideas which may be commercially interesting (including intellectual property dynamics),  and opportunities for students and researchers in commercial settings. Mentors should also be able to guide students towards different career options, and the resources below provide basic lists of considerations for early career researchers when considering academic or private sector careers.
